Description

“That's the thing with magic. You've got to know it's still here, all around us, or it just stays invisible for you.”

- Charles de Lint

Rendered in Daz Studio 3 Advanced. Postwork in Photoshop. Full resolution is 1500 x 1208, download for details.

This is really only the second DS3 render I've done, and I'm impressed with it's ease of use. The interface is delightfully intuitive, and I REALLY wish Poser had "universal transform" gizmos the way that DS does. On the other hand, DS seems to lack several abilities that Poser has -- though, admittedly, I'm a very new DS user and I could just be missing the finer points. Still, I miss Poser's node-based materials. I wonder if one can add occlusion nodes to textures in DS. I'm not fond of light-based occlusion at all.

In any event, it's a fun new toy! And looks like it'll be on sale at DAZ for $1.88 on monday for PC members. (Since I only bought it 10 days ago, I will get the sale refund, woot!!) Yay, October and DAZ's PC anniversary!!

Ok. Done babbling now.

If Helen of Troy had had hair like that, Agamemnon would have sailed with far more than one thousand ships and less than one complaint.

Where do the women in these fantasy worlds get their fishnet stockings? Or shoes as hot as those? And, while our subject is not wearing that much, we both know that there are some pretty swank outfits that the ladies on dA find themselves wearing. Where do these come from? My theory? An interdimensional Nordstrom in the æthereal plane run by witches, for witches, the latter of whom bring garments back to their respective material realms, mark them up, and sell them while posing as seamstresses. Not a bad cover for a witch!

That said, I really want to see pictures of this æthereal Nordstrom, especially the Men's Department. I am so bored with my wardrobe.
