In the Tarot, Justice is fairly forthright in her meaning. She stands for (go figure) justice, fairness, and doing what is right. While many of us see justice as an external force that is applied when wrongdoing occurs, it is far more likely to occur in our own minds every single day. Each of us, in our own way, must decide what is moral, ethical, and right. Justice is not only a punishment for crimes, it is also the force which prevents them in the first place. This card, I believe, stands far more for the scales balancing in our hearts than those in a courtroom.
