This is my entry for SeedyDeedee's "Random Art Theme Generator" contest. (See the contest journal entry here: [link]) The theme I got from the generator (found here: [link]) was "Glamorous warlord in a Welcoming wine-cellar". Because, heck, even warlords deserve a nice, aged French Bordeaux after a hard day oppressing peasants.

I will admit... this was NOT the first theme the generator gave me. I toyed with "Stupid apostles in a Smoky swamp" for a bit, and even was given "Dying merfolk in a Dark lavatory" at one point... but the visuals of flushing merfolk down the toilet like dead goldfish were just too much for me to process. So, after some deliberation, Glam Man with a Goblet won out.

For the record, took FOREVER to get the lighting on this right. I started in Poser Pro 2010. Fiddled there with IBLs and AO material nodes... and, when that didn't work, I tried an IDL dome and point lights for highlights... and then I gave up, and re-set the whole thing in DS3A with the uberenvironment background lighting scheme. Had to add several decay point lights and fiddle with intensities and shadows and a few zillion other things before it FINALLY came together. Wine guy was being rather stubborn about wanting to hide in the dark, but I coaxed him out.

I'm so enamored with the Lucien character (by Sarsa, available at RDNA), I used him again -- even though he just appeared in my "Not The Cable Guy" image.
